Looking for Volunteers to help at the Oakland Running Festival EXPO on March 23 and March 24

Let's show our love to ORF by helping them get set-up and distributing the race packets in the evening of Friday, March 23 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and all day from 8:00am to 2:00pm or Noon to 6:00pm.

RBO will need help at the tent as well to distribute the race packets to our students so you can sign-up for these shifts too.

Thanks a lot for our courageous volunteers who are spending a lot of time fundraising to help RBO finance all the wonderful projects we have been able to organize and are planning for next Season. Shirts for all, Multiple races to run, Trips to Crissy Field by Bus, Trail Runs in the Oakland Hills, Yoga for the Half Marathon training, Shoes for the younger students, Athletic Bras for our female runners, nutrition clinic speakers  and more projects in the plan that could not happen without the generosity of our donors. Please encourage your friends to donate to RBO through some of these campaigns.

Andrea and Ed just started their campaign today! Give them a boost!

Rebecca is on her third year fundraising for RBO as we approach the Oakland Running Festival. This year she is running the Challenge which means she'll run first with a couple of 5K students and will then join the Half Marathon students and her mentees for another 13.2 miles! With her big smile and funny jokes she brings an exceptional energy that makes everyone feel very special around her.

Coach Christine has been fundraising for RBO for many years! and every year she raises the bar and reaches out to a wider community of runners and friends!

Peter has been fundraising for RBO for many years and also get a match from his work! That's another great way to fundraise!

Lucy saw us at the Lake and decided to start a campaign just because she loved the energy she saw in the group she met ! And she is training for her first half at ORF18 like many f Amazing!

OIselle Visit!

The Oiselle Team was just amazing! From their genuine presentation of the BRAS FOR GIRLS Program to a very dynamic warmup and fun run that all lead to the exciting distribution of athletic bras, RBO girls were in for a treat!  A big Thank you to Sheena and Alisha for coming over and making us all feel very special!

A big Thank You to Chase for telling the guys about running styles and efficiency and for the nice socks!

Yoga at You & the Mat for Half Marathon Students

Many thanks to the Studio "YOU and the Mat", 3966 PIEDMONT AVENUE, OAKLAND for reserving space on Wednesday afternoons for our students. A big thanks to Grace from being RBO instructor for these sessions.

Half Marathon Students are invited to run and yoga on Wednesdays. It's not easy to find a time that can accommodate everyone but the students who join are coming back and start feeling the benefits f the mid-week training. It's a start!

For more info.....

if you took some photos at practice you really like and could share to post on RBO website,  please send Nancy a note so we can arrange the upload on RBO Google Photo Drive. Thanks!

LMJS couple Relay

Registration is now closed - if you signed up, please find all info about the race here..

Parents: we'd like to encourage you to join the Blue Team!

It's fun to run with your children or to watch them enjoy their time with RBO at the Lake. If you are not wearing a blue shirt, it might be difficult for other volunteers to identify you as part of RBO community. Please sign-up as a volunteer at the Tent and grab a blue shirt. Share RBO Oakland Pride and most of all, help us keep it safe for all our RBO students! Thank You!

Green Team: who are they?

They are mostly High school students with a few Middle School students too, and they chose to come spend their Saturday mornings with RBO K-5 students. The feedback came and yes the younger students are falling into their charm and they follow their leads and show more motivation to run. Their time counts for their community service hours but obviously that's not why they are here!  Thanks a lot Green Team for your energy, big laughs and smiles! T
