RBO is Powered by Run Mentors.
RBO Run Mentors are parents, educators, running enthusiasts, neighbors, and anybody that wants to give back to their community by helping Oakland students train for local races! We are looking for Run Mentors that want to help our students reach their goals both in races and beyond the finish line. Run Mentors will receive an RBO performance running shirt, free entries to local races, healthy snacks, and a community of unwavering positive support as they progress through a structured running program!
Requirements: Run Mentors including coaches are required to pay $20 to approve and pass a background check once per year. It is critical to RBO that this cost is not a barrier to participation for anybody! Please don’t hesitate to contact RBO if you need financial assistance to cover the cost of your background check. Run Mentors including coaches are also required to complete a free Sexual Abuse Awareness and Reporting Training every two years. The training can be accessed here.
